The Loves of My Life

The Girl in Apartment K may not have the man of her dreams at her side right now, but she has something much better. She has the undying love of three beautiful girls. They can take her shit day and turn it into a room full of sunshine just by giving her a "whatever attitude" look, telling her to "Don't Stop Believin," or asking her to talk like Spike. They have helped her thru some of the worst parts of her life without even trying.  When she told them she was no longer going to be with her first husband, they replied with a joyous, "Now, you can cook the good chilli." And "Now, you can marry Spencer from iCarly." When she was recovering from her surgery, they snuggled with her on the couch and got her hooked on a "Toddlers and Tiaras" marathon. When she totaled her SUV, they told her that her next car will be even better than Taylor Swift (named so because of the fast pace she moved.)

2011: To Do List

The Girl in Apartment K is ready to make some changes. There are several things she would like to accomplish in the upcoming year, resolutions, if you will. Here is a list (in no particular order.)

~ Be more social. Apartment K is great and all, but there is life outside. (Thanks, Avenue Q.)

~ Try seafood. From an early age, The Girl in Apartment K told everyone that she was allergic to seafood. This is untrue as far as she knows. She has never tried it and was always afraid it would be gross. She has visions of yuck from the bottom of the ocean filling her mouth with every bite.

~ Read more. Watch less TV. When she moves in with her folks, she will be within walking distance of a very nice library. Free books and a workout.  What could be better?

~ See more live music. The Girl in Apartment K wants to support local bands. The problem with that is she doesn't know where to find them. She also just loves concerts in general.

~ Maintain a healthy weight. After slimming down, the hardest thing to do is keep it off. The Girl in Apartment K wants to tone her new svelte figure. However, she will not deprive herself of her guilty pleasures. (Twix PB, pizza, frosting on graham crackers)

~ Improve her credit score. Trusting the wrong people can really mess with your finances. Lesson learned, fix it, and move on.

~ Learn to roller blade. She already owns a pair, but took a big spill the first time she tried them and has yet to get back on the horse.

~ Find a job that does not consume her life.

~ Love more.

~ Make a fresh start.

~ Learn to play tennis. Pretty sure her brother will help her with this one.

~ Spend more time with brothers. It's pretty bad when she sees both of them the same amount when one lives 15 minutes away and one is 2 hours away. Gotta fix that too.

~ Try coffee. She always considered it to be an old person drink, but it always smells so good...

~ Pretty much just get her life back together.  The Girl in Apartment K turns 27 this year. Those 27 years have not been the greatest. The next 27 are going to be the good ones.
